Screech Owls.

Director Jennifer Rockwell got a call from a couple who explained that they were trying to cover a cavity outside their house and found these baby screech owls.

First Baby Squirrels of the Season.

Michelle Rice, squirrel rehabilitator received AIDA’s first babies of the season. Our local Eastern Fox (tree) Squirrels have litters twice a year and this is their first for 2021.

Birds, Fishing Hooks & Fishing Lines

Ruth Melichar Bird Center receives a lot of bird injuries from fishing hooks. Leftover fishing scraps present a continuing danger for birds. To see some of the damage they create, read on for the story. Please note it contains some sensitive photo content.

Cougars.

On Tuesday morning, October 11, 2005, Mady received a call from the Department of Idaho Fish & Game asking if she would be able to take two Cougar kittens whose mother had been shot.

Western Kingbirds.

A woman came in with a nest of 5 kingbird hatchlings, saying she saw the mother fly into a window and break her neck. We raised them and watched them grow until they were ready for release.

In the summer of 2012, apartment residents heard this baby raccoon crying after it had fallen inside a wall from the open attic in the building.

This juvenile Great Horned Owl was brought in soaking wet after being rescued from falling into a river.
